Scaling New Heights: HPS Trek to Pandu Ropa 2026
The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, in collaboration with Adventure Activity Planners, successfully organised an educational trekking and adventure expedition to Pandu Ropa, Manali, from 29 April to 5 May 2026. The programme was designed to provide students with opportunities for experiential learning, outdoor education, leadership development and environmental awareness.
The journey began with travel to Delhi, followed by an overnight road trip to Manali. Upon arrival at the base camp, students participated in a variety of adventure activities and team-building exercises that prepared them for the trekking expedition ahead.
The highlight of the programme was the multi-day trek through the breathtaking Himalayan landscape. Students journeyed from the base camp to Shegil and trekked through Mandron (Camp I), Mahilee (Camp II), Pandu Ropa, and Koot (Camp III). Traversing rugged mountain trails, lush meadows and scenic valleys, participants experienced the grandeur of the Himalayas while developing resilience, endurance, teamwork and leadership skills.
Living in camps and trekking across challenging terrain provided students with valuable firsthand experience in outdoor survival skills, responsible trekking practices and environmental stewardship. The expedition encouraged self-reliance, discipline, adaptability and collaboration, enabling participants to grow both personally and socially.
Following the successful completion of the trek, students returned to the base camp and took part in a reflection session, sharing their experiences, challenges and key learnings from the expedition. A certificate ceremony was held to recognise and celebrate their accomplishment.
The Trek to Pandu Ropa proved to be a transformative experience, fostering confidence, perseverance, teamwork and a deeper appreciation for nature. It exemplified the school’s commitment to holistic education by providing students with meaningful opportunities to learn beyond the classroom and develop essential life skills for the future.
