Held amidst the iconic sandstone arches that have witnessed generations of excellence, the ceremony symbolised the formal entrustment of leadership to the newly elected Prefectorial Board. More than the presentation of badges, it was a solemn reminder that leadership is earned through character, integrity, humility and service.

The occasion was graced by distinguished alumnus Rear Admiral Srinivas Maddula, VSM, Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (Foreign Cooperation & Intelligence), Indian Navy, whose own journey began as an HPS prefect and NCC cadet. His remarkable career stood as a powerful testament to the values nurtured within the school and inspired every young leader present to dream beyond the horizon.

The ceremony commenced with a spectacular Guard of Honour presented by the NCC cadets, accompanied by the stirring notes of the School Brass Band and the majestic School Equestrian Contingent. The unfurling of the School Flag reaffirmed the enduring spirit of HPS—a spirit that has shaped leaders for more than a century.

A defining moment of the event was the investiture of the Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Heads, House Captains, School Games Captains, Co-curricular Captains and Prefects, who pledged to uphold the highest standards of discipline, responsibility and service. As they took the Oath of Office, they accepted not merely positions of honour, but the responsibility of carrying forward the values and reputation of an institution that has stood as a beacon of excellence since 1923.

The ceremony also celebrated exceptional achievement with the presentation of the prestigious Cane of Honour to NCC cadet Saharsh Satya Narayanan for his outstanding performance at the Republic Day Camp 2025–26, reflecting the school’s unwavering commitment to excellence beyond the classroom.

Adding an emotional touch to the occasion was the felicitation of former HPS educator Ms. Kanaka Durga, whose years of dedicated service shaped countless young lives. Her presence, alongside her son—the Chief Guest—beautifully embodied the enduring bond between teachers, students and the HPS family across generations.

In keeping with the school’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, a Shami sapling was planted, symbolising resilience, growth and the responsibility each generation bears towards the future.

As the ceremony concluded, the newly invested leaders stood not merely wearing badges of office, but carrying the hopes of their peers, the trust of their teachers and the legacy of every Eaglet who came before them. Their journey begins with a promise—to lead with courage, serve with humility and ensure that the HPS flag continues to soar ever higher.
