CISCE Inspire Webinar with Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla — A Journey Beyond the Stars

On 10th October 2025, students of our school participated in the CISCE Inspire Webinar featuring Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, Test Pilot with the Indian Air Force, Gaganyaan astronaut with ISRO, and a distinguished alumnus of CISCE. Group Captain Shukla, who recently visited the International Space Station (ISS) in July 2025, addressed thousands of students and teachers across the country, sharing insights from his remarkable journey.

We are pleased to share that Ms. Shaanvi Karri, a student of Grade 11, was selected to pose a question during the live interaction — a proud moment for the school that exemplifies the spirit of experiential learning and student engagement.

During the session, Group Captain Shukla inspired students to approach every challenge with sincerity, curiosity, and perseverance. He emphasised that genuine effort and disciplined hard work are the true pathways to success.

“Be curious, ask questions, and explore. Curiosity is where learning begins,” he advised, encouraging students to dream big and remain steadfast in their pursuit of excellence.

Addressing nearly 50,000 students and 1,000 teachers from CISCE schools across India and abroad, he offered a glimpse into the rigorous world of astronaut training and the profound experience of viewing Earth from space.

“When I saw India from space, I was very emotional. It was surreal and wonderful – the highlight of the mission,” he shared, reflecting on the pride and humility of that moment.

Group Captain Shukla also highlighted the importance of space research as a means of advancing human knowledge and addressing global challenges. He underscored how the International Space Station (ISS) stands as a testament to international collaboration, innovation, and the shared pursuit of progress.

“The ISS demonstrates how people from different nations can work together to dream bigger, solve problems, and achieve the impossible,” he stated.

The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer segment, during which students interacted directly with the astronaut, seeking insights into life aboard the ISS, astronaut training, and upcoming space missions.

Dr. Joseph Emmanuel, Chief Executive and Secretary of CISCE, commended the initiative, noting that such interactions offer students invaluable exposure and inspiration. The session, described as “enlightening and unforgettable,” has left a lasting impression on young learners across the nation.

We take immense pride in Ms. Shaanvi Karri for representing our school in this prestigious national event and demonstrating curiosity, confidence, and enthusiasm.

This exceptional event and its highlights were featured in India Today’s article titled “Curiosity, Courage are Essential for Success: Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla,” published on 12 October 2025.
