Ideas on Display: Middle School Soft Board Competition

Learning found a colourful expression at The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, as students of Grades 6, 7, and 8 transformed their classrooms into vibrant showcases of imagination, collaboration, and creativity during the Middle School Soft Board Competition, held on 24th July 2026.

Inspired by the themes ‘Rain Brings Life’ (Grade 6), ‘A Journey Through Time’ (Grade 7), and ‘India @2047’ (Grade 8), each class worked together to create visually compelling and thought-provoking displays. Guided by their Class Teachers and Associate Class Teachers, students explored their themes through research, discussion, artistic expression, and innovative design, bringing together knowledge and creativity in equal measure.

The soft boards reflected a remarkable blend of originality and teamwork. From intricate artwork and creative layouts to timelines, three-dimensional elements, interactive features, and imaginative models, every display told a unique story. Student presenters confidently explained the ideas behind their boards, demonstrating not only a deep understanding of the themes but also impressive communication and presentation skills.

What made the competition truly special was the collective effort behind every display. Each student contributed in a meaningful way—through research, writing, illustration, lettering, design, decoration, or presentation—ensuring that every board was a reflection of shared learning and teamwork. In the process, students strengthened essential life skills such as collaboration, leadership, critical thinking, creativity, and time management.

The judges commended the originality, thoughtful execution, and enthusiastic participation displayed by the students. They appreciated the seamless balance between creativity and content, as well as the confidence with which the presenters articulated their ideas.

More than a competition, the event was a celebration of curiosity, collaboration, and experiential learning. It reaffirmed HPS Begumpet’s belief that meaningful education extends beyond textbooks, encouraging students to explore, create, and communicate with confidence while discovering the joy of learning together.
