Asia-Pacific Decarbonize Student Conference 2026

The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet participated in the Asia-Pacific Decarbonize Student Conference 2026, held on 18th July 2026 at Gitanjali Vedika School, Hyderabad. The conference was organised to inspire young minds to take meaningful action towards sustainability and climate resilience.

The Chief Guest, Smt. R. Sobha, IFS (Retd.), Former Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Head of Forest Force (HoFF), Telangana, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation and the role of students in creating a sustainable future. The event was also graced by distinguished Guests of Honour, including Rtn. AKS Uday Pilani, District Governor (Dist. 3150); Rtn. Hari Hara Prasad, District Governor Elect (2027–28), Dr. Vasanthi Rao, Regional Vice Chair for South & East Asia, IUCN CEC, Mr. Zhak Niayjyan (WWF–Armenia), Mr. Terry Godwaldt, Director, Centre for Global Education, Canada and Ms. Sara Flynn, Executive Director, Centre for Global Education, Canada.

Students from Classes VIII to X represented The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet by presenting creative artworks and a video showcasing the school’s initiatives on sustainability and decarbonization undertaken during the past academic year. Their presentations highlighted innovative solutions in climate action, waste management, biodiversity conservation, renewable energy and sustainable living.

The students were accompanied by Ms. Swapna, Department of Geography, who served as the teacher escort throughout the conference. The team had been guided and mentored throughout the year by Mrs. Soma Dutta Kumar, Head, Department of Geography, whose continuous encouragement, planning and supervision enabled the students to confidently present the school’s environmental initiatives on this prestigious platform.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity for students to interact with environmental experts, educators, and peers from different schools, fostering collaboration, creativity and a deeper commitment to sustainable development. The participation of The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet was widely appreciated, making the event a memorable and enriching learning experience for everyone.
