POSH & POCSO SESSION 2026
CREATING SAFE SPACES AT THE HPS BEGUMPET
On 20th June 2026, The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, organised an awareness session on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for its staff+.
The session was conducted by Ms. Rohini Naidu, Social Governance Advisor, certified POSH expert, leadership trainer, and founder of The Girl Foundation (TGF India). Through the Foundation, she has been actively involved in initiatives focused on gender sensitisation, child protection, menstrual health and hygiene, leadership development, life-skills education, and legal awareness. Working closely with educational institutions, organisations, and communities, TGF India promotes informed dialogue, encourages positive social change, and creates opportunities for individuals to grow into confident and responsible citizens. The Foundation’s work is rooted in the belief that awareness, education, and collective action are key to building safer, more inclusive, and equitable communities.
Drawing from her experience, Ms. Naidu spoke about the key provisions of the POSH and POCSO Acts and the role educational institutions play in ensuring the safety and well-being of children. Her emphasis on gender equality, mutual respect, and inclusive practices encouraged participants to reflect on how these values can be strengthened in everyday interactions within the school environment.
The interactive nature of the session encouraged meaningful participation and reflection, strengthening the collective responsibility of safeguarding every member of the school community. Staff engaged in thoughtful discussions on child protection, workplace conduct, gender sensitisation, and the importance of fostering a culture of trust, respect, and accountability.
At HPS Begumpet, the safety, dignity, and well-being of our students and staff remain paramount. By promoting awareness and empowering our community with knowledge, we continue to build an environment where everyone feels respected, protected, and valued.
“When awareness grows, safety follows; when respect thrives, communities flourish.”
