A Tribute to Three Esteemed Educators – Farewell to Pillars of HPS, Begumpet

The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, on April 23,2026 bid a fond farewell to three dedicated educators whose years of service have enriched the school community.

Ms. Anuradha S. Kumar, an alumna of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Puttaparthi,  joined HPS in 1996 and has since been a quiet yet powerful influence on the academic community.  

 A passionate teacher and an avid reader,she brought thoughtfulness and sincerity into every classroom she entered. Known for her calm demeanour and love for the tranquillity of nature, she inspired students not just academically but also in appreciating the simple joys of life. As she steps into retirement, she looks forward to travelling and enjoying a peaceful, relaxed life with her family.

Ms. Usha Sudhir P, a valued member of HPS since 2005 and Head of the Geography Department, has inspired students through her commitment to environmental awareness. 

 An alumna of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Vizag and Chennai,her teaching journey also includes valuable experience at DAV Hyderabad and Bhavan’s. A passionate advocate for environmental awareness, she spearheaded the Decarbonise – Climate Change Programme (2017–2025). Through plantation drives, composting initiatives, awareness campaigns and creative competitions, she empowered students from Grades 5 to 12 to become responsible global citizens. Her leadership in climate change initiatives encouraged students to become responsible global citizens. She now looks forward to spending time in nature and travelling.

Ms. Pratibha Kulkarni, with over 33 years of service, has played a pivotal role in shaping the Visual Arts Department. A graduate of JNTU College of Fine Arts with a specialization in Painting, she began her career in 1992 as an enthusiastic Art and Craft teacher in the primary school. Over the years, she grew into a leadership role, eventually heading the Visual Arts Department. A recipient of accolades in Art Teachers’ Competitions, Ms. Kulkarni’s commitment to nurturing artistic talent has been widely recognized. From nurturing young talent to leading exhibitions and creative programmes, her contribution to the cultural life of the school has been immense.

As they embark on a new journey, the HPS family expresses heartfelt gratitude for their dedication and wishes them happiness, good health, and fulfilment in the years ahead.
