Student Mentors Lead the Way:

A Vibrant World Art Day at HPS Begumpet

On 15 April 2026 , in a colorful tribute to the legacy of Leonardo da Vinci, The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, transformed its Kala Praagan into a bustling hub of imagination for World Art Day. The “Transforming Totes into Masterpieces” workshop saw plain canvas bags evolve into stunning personal expressions, driven by a unique model of student-led mentorship. The event was a beautiful tribute to creativity, bringing students together to transform plain canvas bags into unique pieces of art.

What made this workshop truly special was the mentorship of Class 12 Art students who stepped into the role of mentors, guiding younger students from Classes 7 and 8, sharing their technical expertise and artistic vision. This student-led initiative fostered a wonderful atmosphere of collaboration and peer-to-peer learning. It  did more than just teach brushstrokes; it built a bridge of collaboration across the school community.

By scheduling the workshop on World Art Day, the school honoured the birthday of history’s greatest polymath. Much like Da Vinci himself, the students proved that art is a blend of technical skill, patience and boundless curiosity.

The message of the day was clear– “Everyone is capable of creating something beautiful with a bit of patience and hard work.”
