Field Trip Report
The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, organised an enriching and enjoyable field trip for Grade 6 and 7 CIE students to Sanjeevaiah Park and the DoScience Center. The excursion aimed to provide students with a blend of environmental awareness and experiential learning in science.
A total of 105 students, accompanied by 10 teachers, participated in the trip. The first stop was Sanjeevaiah Park, a sprawling public greenspace spread across 92 acres along the banks of Hussain Sagar Lake. The park offered students a refreshing environment where they could explore nature, observe diverse plant life, and spend quality time outdoors. The serene surroundings helped students appreciate the importance of green spaces in urban areas.
The visit to the DoScience Center proved to be an engaging and interactive learning experience. Students were introduced to various scientific concepts explained in simple and accessible language. The hands-on exhibits encouraged curiosity and helped students understand fundamental principles of science through practical demonstrations.
A major highlight of the trip was the Virtual Reality facility – VR Astronomy. This immersive experience allowed students to explore the vastness of space, giving them the unique sensation of “touching” the sky, stars, and the cosmos. The activity sparked immense excitement and deepened their interest in astronomy and space science.
Overall, the field trip was a perfect blend of recreation and education. It provided students with meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom, fostering curiosity, teamwork, and a greater appreciation for both nature and science.
