Empowered India in Action-Republic Day Celebrations at HPS,Begumpet
The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet commemorated the 77th Republic Day of India with dignity, patriotic fervour and a strong sense of purpose. The celebration marked the adoption of the Constitution of India and reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to democratic values, unity and progress.
The programme commenced with a ceremonial escort of the Principal,Dr. Skand Bali and Vice Principal, Ms. Amritha Chandra Raju, by the NCC cadets, symbolising discipline, leadership and service. This was followed by an impressive Mounted Unit Salaami, reflecting India’s rich defence heritage. The formal unfurling of the National Flag by the Principal,Dr. Skand Bali, alongside Ms. G. Kalpana, Director of the Sports Department, set a solemn and respectful tone for the proceedings.
Aligned with the theme “Empowered India: The Transformation of Bharat from 1950–2026,” the cultural programme traced India’s journey across decades. The Junior School Choir represented the early years of nation-building, followed by a reflective address by the Head Boy, highlighting the challenges and aspirations of post-independence India. The Middle and Senior School Choir captured the transformative decades of the 1980s and 1990s, marked by economic reforms and social change.
The early 2000s and India’s global emergence were portrayed through a creative Nukkad Natak and dance by the IB PYP students. The Junior School dance further showcased modern India through themes such as Swachh Bharat, Make in India and Space Achievements. A special highlight was the presentation of the prestigious King Constantine Award to Prem Madhav Bali of Grade 12, recognising his exemplary leadership, service and commitment to Round Square IDEALS.
The programme also featured the release of “Kathamanjeera,” a children’s short story collection by Mr. Mudhigonda Santosh Kumar, underscoring the school’s emphasis on literature and learning. The celebration concluded with an address by the Principal. It was followed by a vibrant dance depicting contemporary India’s resilience and a formal vote of thanks, followed by the National Anthem.
The event was a meaningful tribute to India’s past, present and future, reflecting the school’s commitment to nurturing responsible and informed citizens.
