Annual Cultural Evening
The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet’s Annual Cultural Evening, Through the Creative Mist was held on 23rd December, 2025. The creativity and energy of the students was heartwarming.
Gracing the occasion, among other dignitaries, was the Chief Guest, a multi-faceted creative force, Mr Tarun Dhanrajgir, a notable actor, film maker, and an HPS alumnus. The Principal, Dr. Skand Bali, and the Vice-Principal, Mrs. Amrita Chandra Raju, honoured the occasion by presenting the chief guest with a memento and sapling.
The audience witnessed some extraordinarily delightful performances. The show began with the lively and joyful rendition by the Primary Choir titled – ‘The Greatest Show’, the IB PYP students’ scintillating performance called ‘Shining Together’ and the primary dance group’s ‘Introduction to Harmony in Nature’, that together created towering mountains, gentle rivers, lush forests, and bright flowers which thoroughly captivated the crowd.
The annual school play titled ‘The Play That Goes Wrong’ amused the audience with their wonderfully crafted humorous performance.
The two final performances- the Chords of Fire(by the Senior-school Choir), and the Rhythms of Growing Wings(Dance by the Middle-school students) were absolute stunners and were deemed as an absolutely breathtaking end to a magnificent evening.
The Chief Guest, Mr Tarun Dhanrajgir, recollected his fond memories associated with being a student in the Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet and endearingly termed it as returning ‘home’. He acknowledged the importance of the role teachers played in his life, and how they made a lasting impact on him. He lauded the grit and teamwork of students who put up a spectacular show, while balancing a plethora of activities. This is indeed the spirit of HPS.
Mr. Michael Ballem, the Head of the department of the Performing Arts, expressed his sincere gratitude to everyone who collectively envisioned, supported, and brought to fruition the success of the Annual Cultural Evening, 2025.
