Echoes of the Past: A Heritage Walk Through Time

As part of the World Heritage Week Celebrations 2025, organised by the Department of Heritage Telangana in collaboration with the INTACH Hyderabad Chapter and the Deccan Heritage Academy Trust, our school had the privilege of participating in a captivating Heritage Walk at the Telangana State Museum, Public Gardens, Hyderabad, on 19th November, 2025.

This enriching experience offered students a rare opportunity to step into history and witness Telangana’s vibrant cultural legacy firsthand. We gratefully acknowledge Ms Anuradha Reddy of INTACH Hyderabad, whose expert guidance and insightful narratives transformed the walk into an inspiring learning journey.

A team of 25 students, accompanied by three teachers, explored the museum’s remarkable collections—ranging from ancient sculptures and intricate bronze artefacts to coins, inscriptions, manuscripts, traditional arts, weaponry, and royal memorabilia. Each gallery unfolded stories of bygone eras, bringing history alive beyond textbooks.

The visit also enabled students to interact with heritage professionals, gain awareness of conservation practices, and appreciate the architectural significance of the historic museum building. This immersive engagement seamlessly connected classroom learning with real-world heritage, igniting curiosity and deepening cultural understanding.

At our school, we believe that heritage education is vital to holistic learning. Through thoughtfully curated experiences such as heritage walks and museum visits, we strive to nurture awareness, appreciation, and pride in India’s rich cultural inheritance, empowering students to become thoughtful guardians of our shared legacy.
