HPS plays host to Polish delegation

The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet had the honour of hosting a delegation of 27 students and 6 staff members from XXXI Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Ludwika Zamenhofa, Łódź, Poland from 13th November to 26th November, 2025, marking a remarkable chapter in our European Expedition and Exchange Programme- an unforgettable cultural journey.

Upon reaching the HPS campus, the Polish students received a traditional welcome, after which they dispersed with their respective host families—an experience that helped them form immediate and lasting bonds.

The Opening Ceremony held the next day was a grand affair filled with music and celebration. The Inter-House Music competition and a guided tour of the sprawling campus gave our guests their first glimpse into the spirit and heritage of HPS. Over the next few days, the students explored Hyderabad’s academic, cultural, and historical richness. They witnessed Children’s Day celebrations, participated in workshops, and engaged in leadership programmes. Their visit to the historic Osmania University and the energetic Sports Day at HPS Ramanthapur offered them a taste of India’s academic life and sporting enthusiasm.

One of the highlights of the visit was the two-day adventure camp at Golden Boulder, where students participated in thrilling activities such as bush craft, hiking, and team games, along with a colourful celebration of the Bathukamma Festival, giving them a deep insight into Telangana’s cultural traditions. The group also explored key heritage sites including the Rashtrapati Nilayam, Qutub Shahi Tombs, Golconda Fort and enjoyed the captivating Sound and Light Show, bringing to life Hyderabad’s royal past. Visits to Chowmahalla Palace and the Nizam Museum enriched their historical understanding and offered a glimpse into the diverse cultural richness of India.

Life with host families was deeply cherished, offering the students a true taste of Indian warmth through delicious home-cooked meals, engaging conversations, and genuine hospitality. The visit to T-Works, India’s largest prototyping centre, gave them an exciting glimpse into innovation, technology, and entrepreneurial creativity. A memorable trip to Shriya Reddy’s Farm further enriched their experience, allowing them to enjoy the charm of rural life and witness India beyond its bustling cityscape.

An incredible experience inside the Indian Classroom offered the Polish students a true taste of academic life in India. They participated in interactive lessons, collaborated with peers, and experienced the dynamic learning environment that defines HPS. The classrooms came alive with discussion, activity, and curiosity as students shared perspectives, learned from one another, and built meaningful connections.

This enriching day paved the way for the Closing Ceremony, where both Polish and Indian students proudly showcased their culture through captivating performances—dance, drama including an excerpt from Macbeth, music, quiz presentations, and energetic solo acts. Emotional speeches and thunderous applause created an atmosphere of joy and celebration, honouring the friendships and unforgettable experiences shared throughout the exchange. The day concluded with a warm and memorable Farewell Dinner hosted by the Principal of HPS Begumpet, where laughter, photographs and heartfelt goodbyes marked the perfect end to a remarkable journey.

As the delegation prepared for departure, there was visible nostalgia—but also the promise of continued partnerships, friendships without borders and the hope of meeting again. It reminded us that despite different languages and traditions, young people across the world share the same dreams, curiosity, and enthusiasm.
