Grade 6 to 9 Excursion

A Note on Students’ Visit to the Anandgarh Picnic Farm

On January 7, 2026, the Grade 6, 7, and 8 students of the International Curriculum at The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, enjoyed an enriching excursion to the Anandgarh Picnic Farm in Shamirpet. This outing proved to be a resounding success, offering a much-needed opportunity for students to rejuvenate after a rigorous academic year. While the students found the day immensely entertaining, the venue also served as a nostalgic journey for the teachers, bridging the gap between generations through the joy of outdoor play.

The farm’s well-maintained facilities provided a vibrant backdrop for a variety of recreational activities. Students enthusiastically participated in contemporary sports like cricket, football, volleyball, and basketball. However, the true highlights—the “cherry on top” of the day—were the traditional Indian games. Students were particularly captivated by gilli danda and the art of spinning wooden tops, fostering an appreciation for heritage play that is often lost in the digital age.

The day’s schedule was executed with impressive discipline and energy, as students transitioned from the playing fields to a series of cultural workshops. They experienced the tactile joy of pottery making, witnessed mind-boggling magic shows, and were treated to traditional dance performances. To fuel the day’s excitement, a delicious and wholesome vegetarian lunch was served, which was highly appreciated by both students and staff for its quality and taste.

The smooth execution of the trip was a testament to the effective coordination among the faculty and a strict adherence to safety protocols. From the seamless travel arrangements to the cleanliness and suitability of the venue, every aspect was meticulously managed. The excursion concluded as a memorable day of camaraderie, learning, and physical well-being, reinforcing the school’s commitment to holistic student development.
