From Hyderabad to Seoul: HPS Delegates Conquer CSIA MUN!
A delegation of five Middle School students from The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, under the guidance of advisor Ms. Suja Eugine Fernandez, recently returned from an enriching five-day journey to South Korea for the Cheongshim International Academy Model United Nations (CSIA MUN).
From the streets of Myeongdong to the halls of diplomacy,between intense Crisis Committee sessions and experiencing the heart of Korean culture,the students brought home new friendships, a global perspective and even a Best Actor Award.Lohith Chinamsetty of 8E.
The experience was a perfect blend of rigorous diplomacy and cultural immersion. From exploring the traditional Bukchon Hanok Village and the vibrant Myeongdong Street to enjoying a seafood hot pot at Busan Jib, the students were quickly captivated by the spirit of Seoul.
The conference officially kicked off with an inspiring address by Ambassador Joon Oh, Former President of the UN Economic and Social Council. Our students dove into intense committee sessions with the Crisis Committee proving to be particularly demanding, requiring split-second decision-making and constant alertness.
The hard work culminated in a triumphant Closing Ceremony, where our delegates reflected on themes of personal growth and international collaboration. A special highlight was the Best Actor award won by our studentLohith Chinamsetty of 8E,who was a representative in the Crisis Committee, a testament to the talent and preparation of the HPS delegation.
Beyond the formal debates, the trip focused on character,responsibility,cultural exchange and bonding through interactions with international peers.The Round Square MUN trip was more than just a conference. It was a masterclass in resilience and cultural exchange,a transformative experience that developed confidence and a truly global perspective in our students.From making their own beds in the dorms to drafting international treaties, our students have proved that the world is their classroom.
