Children’s Day 2025

CHILDREN’S DAY 2025
THE HYDERABAD PUBLIC SCHOOL, BEGUMPET

The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, celebrated the Children’s Day with great aplomb in the presence of all the students and staff. The august presence of Ms. Eva Łoś and her team of teachers and students from Poland bestowed the programme with a distinguished splendour. The students and staff thoroughly enjoyed the programme as the Open Air Theatre reverberated with continuous applause.

The day commenced with a warm welcome by the hosts, Ms. Sindhusha and Mr. Abhirup, followed by the prayer by the Head Boy Aneesh Verma, word of the day, thought of the day, and International, National, and Sports news updates. An inspiring message by Mr. Murty highlighted the true spirit of Children’s Day.

The cultural showcase began with the fashion parade by the teachers, titled Parampara—a celebration of tradition—which showcased the rich, vibrant, and diverse traditional attire of India. The spectacular walk captivated the audience and beautifully reaffirmed the nation’s enduring belief in Unity in Diversity. It also underscored the idea that while we embrace modernity and contemporary expression, tradition remains the steadfast root that anchors us.

It was followed by a vibrant dance titled as Desh Ki Dhun – Rhythm of the Nation by the Pre-Primary and Primary teachers and thereafter a ‘lazy dance with minimal expressions’ by the Foundational Years teachers which made the students groove.

Next-up was a humorous skit presented by the teachers of the Cambridge curriculum, which had characters ranging from Munna Bhai to Sivagami, from Dora the Explorer to Ash Wednesday, from Sheldon Cooper to Babu Rao, in a classroom learning the essence of getting along together despite the differences. The humorous act was followed by a dance performance by the teachers of the International Curriculum.

Mr. Jessie, Mr. Gopi, Ms. Ruth, Ms. Saborni, and Abhirup Sir from the ISC and Cambridge curriculum got together to present a montage of songs, ranging from soul-stirring Bollywood melodies to Western folk and blues as well as a parody on English Grammar inspired by the famous Hindi song ‘Humma-Humma’.

The Middle and Senior School teachers captivated the students with an energetic and humorous dance themed “Effortless Elegance,” celebrating their playful and youthful spirit. Throughout the programme, engaging fillers, reflections on childhood, and fun global facts about Children’s Day kept the audience entertained and informed. A delightful highlight was the impromptu dance by the Polish teachers and students, who joined our faculty and rendered the occasion truly unforgettable.

As the performances concluded, the anchors reminded everyone of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s vision of nurturing curious, compassionate, and joyful children. The event concluded with a graceful Vote of Thanks by Vice Head Girl, Mihika Saboo, followed by the National Anthem.

The Children’s Day Celebration 2025 at HPS Begumpet beautifully captured the magic of childhood — wonder, imagination, laughter, and dreams — while strengthening the bond between students and teachers. It was a heartwarming reminder that while growing up is inevitable, keeping the child within us alive is essential.
