Books and Banter – A Celebration of Stories
Books and Banter – A Celebration of Stories
The Books and Banter programme was successfully organised at The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, on 23rd December 2025, with the aim of fostering a love for reading and encouraging meaningful literary discussions among students from Grades 6 to 12. The event provided an interactive platform for learners to engage with books beyond the classroom and share their perspectives in a collaborative and enthusiastic environment.
Students participated actively by discussing well-known and much-loved book series such as Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, and other timeless classics. Through these discussions, learners explored character development, plot progression, themes of friendship, courage, identity, and the conflict between good and evil. Younger students expressed their enjoyment of humour and adventure, while senior students offered deeper insights into character motivations and moral dilemmas, reflecting varied levels of literary understanding across the grades.
The programme also encouraged students to articulate their ideas confidently, listen respectfully to diverse viewpoints, and build connections between stories and real-life experiences. Teachers facilitated the discussions, guiding students to think critically, ask questions, and appreciate different narrative styles and genres.
Overall, the Books and Banter programme proved to be an enriching and engaging experience. It successfully promoted reading as an enjoyable and meaningful activity, strengthened communication skills, and nurtured a shared culture of literary appreciation among students from Grades 6 to 12.
