Biology Workshop on Competency-Based Learning

Report on Biology Workshop on Competency-Based Learning

The Biology Department conducted a Workshop on Competency-Based Learning on 1st November 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Teachers from various ICSE schools across the city participated in the workshop, which aimed to enhance their understanding and implementation of competency-based learning in alignment with the ICSE Class 10 curriculum.

The participants displayed great enthusiasm while planning and executing activities based on ICSE topics. They actively engaged in discussions and exchanged innovative ideas to make classroom teaching more experiential and meaningful.

Under the valuable guidance of Dr. Neeta Bisht, teachers gained a clear understanding of competency expectations for students and learned how to effectively link learning outcomes with classroom activities.

They also learned to frame context-based and well-structured questions aligned with the ICSE board pattern, focusing on Bloom’s Taxonomy to design questions that assess various cognitive levels.

Overall, the workshop was interactive, insightful, and enriching. It equipped teachers with innovative strategies and meaningful approaches to make classroom learning more engaging, skill-oriented, and aligned with competency-based education.
