AFS Elocution Competition

Championing Quality Education

The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet (HPSB), proudly hosted the National-Level Online Elocution Contest for Grades 11 and 12 under the aegis of AFS India, as part of the National Calendar Activity for December 2025. The theme, ‘SDG-4: Quality Education,’ aimed to promote awareness and eloquence among young minds on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education.

The competition garnered an enthusiastic response, with 31 schools from across India registering by the deadline of November 30, 2025. Detailed rules, judging rubrics, and a shared folder for video submissions were provided, ensuring all entries were received by December 3, 2025.

The preliminary round of judging the entries was done by School AFS Coordinators, Ms Amita Chandran K and Ms Shamala.  The  submissions were adjudicated using a prepared judgment sheet incorporating rubrics and automatic score compilation. Ten finalists were shortlisted. These students, accompanied by their AFS coordinators  participated in a live final round via Zoom.  Finalists delivered  a two-minute speech on a topic provided 12 hours in advance. The topic was ‘ Quality Education is Not a Privilege, But a Fundamental Right’

From the finals, five winners were selected: one ‘Excellent,’ two ‘Outstanding,’ and two ‘Special Mention.’

Certificates to the participants and the winners will be issued by AFS India.

This initiative highlighted exceptional talent and commitment to SDG-4, promoting cross-cultural dialogue.

We extend our gratitude to AFS India for their support and to all participating schools for their enthusiasm.
